My first computer.
I got my first computer and started going online around 1998, in third or fourth grade. I used it to play, explore and figure out how websites worked.
Online since the dial-up days
I’m Rob. I’ve been building things online since I was a kid.
I do AI consulting through my company, MTB Media, and take contract work as an AI integrator and strategist.
I’m also open to technical product management and strategy roles. Get in touch, or explore my projects and writing below.
Photos, journal pages and old posts from my years online.

I wrote about getting Visual Basic 4.0 in my journal. I was still in elementary school and wanted to make my own programs.

Two journal entries capture the week I hoped for Optimum Online and then got a cable modem for my birthday. The speed felt impossible: one click and you were there.

Me at the family computer in 2001. This is where I spent a lot of my time learning, playing and working on websites.

In February and March 2002, I documented a plan to capture requested Cheers episodes as compact RealMedia files, launched SyndicatedSitcoms.com, and opened The Cheers Network for people with cable or DSL.
With CS13, I made Counter-Strike 1.3 work through Steam, grew an IRC community to roughly 1,000 users, and ran a tournament featuring top CAL-I players.

On June 22, 2011, I introduced myself to the Bitcoin forum as a New York City marketing-company owner already accepting BTC for design and development work. By July 1, I was offering to fill large orders and discussing discounts above 2,500 BTC.

By 2013, I was running my digital marketing company and managing ad campaigns. These photos show me at work and a Facebook Ads dashboard from that year.

I grew up on forums, warez boards, mIRC channels,
Angelfire pages, AIM away messages, Counter-Strike,
Ventrilo servers and whatever else I could break,
rebuild, host, sell or turn into something useful.
There was never really a normal path.
No traditional career ladder.
No perfectly formatted LinkedIn story.
Just years of figuring shit out.
